airway and is the most common chronic disease in children characterized by wheezing. Wheezing may occur even once it is up to 50% of all infants and children under 3 years old and topic dermatitis affecting over 10% of children. Objective: To define incidence and prevalence of asthma and others allergic diseases in population of less than 5 years of age in Juarez Hospital Mexico. Results: We evaluated 11,346 allergic patients on 4 years period (January 2007 to December 2010). Two thousand three hundred ninety six were #5 years (21.11%); 10.2% a year old or younger, 16.7% 2 years old, 18.5% had 3 years, 24.7% of 4 years and 30% 5 years old. Nine hundred ninety two patients (41.4%) were females and 1.404 (58.6%) male. One thousand two hundred thirty eight patients (51.7%) had only one diagnostic finding as most frequent cause of consultation allergic rhinitis (59.6%), followed by asthma (23%), atopic dermatitis (5.1%), prurigo by insect (4.3), immunodeficiency (1.2%) the rest had various pathologies such as contact dermatitis, gastro esophageal reflux, oral allergy syndrome, and others. The remaining patients 48.3% (1158) had more than one diagnostic. The most common associations were asthma and rhinitis 716 (30%), 72 patients (3%) with asthma and atopic dermatitis, 48 patients (2%) with some immune deficiency and asthma and/or rhinitis, 12 (0.5%) with prurigo and atopic dermatitis, 8 (0.3%) with urticaria and 11 patients (4.5%) with other diagnoses such as reflux or infections. Conclusions: Allergic diseases are common on pediatric population and children under 5 years old asthma and rhinitis is theprincipal cause of consultation.

In search of a tolerance-induction strategy for cow's milk allergies: significant reduction of beta-lactoglobulin allergenicity via transglutaminase/cysteine polymerization
OBJECTIVE To explore the use of β-lactoglobulin polymerized using microbial transglutaminase and heating to identify whether protein polymerization could reduce in vivo allergenicity and maintain in vitro and ex vivo immunoreactivity for use in tolerance-induction protocols. METHODS Based on previous protocols applied in mice and children, we performed in vivo challenges (using a skin prick t...
متن کاملLymphocyte Responses to Chymotrypsin- or Trypsin V-Digested β-Lactoglobulin in Patients with Cow's Milk Allergy
: Chymotrypsin- or trypsin V- (a mixture of trypsin and chymotrypsin) digested beta-lactoglobulin (BLG) peptides were prepared and were confirmed to have much less immunoglobulin (lg)G and lgE reactivity compared with intact BLG by IgG inhibition enzymelinked immunosorbent assay and IgE dot blotting. The lymphocyte responses to intact BLG and these peptides were examined using peripheral blood ...
متن کاملSpecific IgE responses in patients allergic to goat’s milk but tolerant to cow’s milk: involvement of minor differences in primary structure between caprine and bovine caseins
Methods b-Lactoglobulin, whole casein and its four different fractions, i.e. as1-, as2-, band -caseins, were isolated from raw CM and GM. Purified b-caseins were subjected to a mild proteolysis by plasmin which generated 3 peptides, i.e. f(1-28), f(29-107) and f(108-207/9). Synthetic peptides partially recovering the N-terminal f(29107) part of the caprine b-casein were also produced. Immunorea...
متن کاملDevelopment of β-Lactoglobulin-Specific Chimeric Human IgEκ Monoclonal Antibodies for In Vitro Safety Assessment of Whey Hydrolysates
BACKGROUND Cow's milk-derived whey hydrolysates are nutritional substitutes for allergic infants. Safety or residual allergenicity assessment of these whey hydrolysates is crucial. Currently, rat basophilic leukemia RBL-2H3 cells expressing the human IgE receptor α-chain (huFcεRIα-RBL-2H3), sensitized with serum IgE from cow's milk allergic children, are being employed to assess in vitro residu...
متن کاملThe Most Common Cow's Milk Allergenic Proteins with Respect to Allergic Symptoms in Iranian Patients.
Cow's milk allergy (CMA) is an immunological response to cow's milk proteins such as casein, α-lactalbumin and β lactoglobulin. The aim of this study was to determine the most common cow's milk allergenic proteins in patients with CMA and identify the most effective proteins in different allergic symptoms. Eighty seven patients (≤18 years) with allergy to cow's milk from 2006 to 2013 entered th...
